Crostata Walnut and Cranberry Tart
Combine the tartness of the cranberries with the creaminess of Saga® Classic Blue Brie for the end to any dinner. We like serving this recipe as a savory dessert course.
Makes 6 servings
2 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
1 cup Lurpak butter, chilled and cut into small pieces
¼ cold water
2 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed
½ cup chopped walnuts
4 tablespoons sugar
8 ounces Saga® Classic Blue Brie, rind removed and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons confectioner’s sugar
1. Preheat the oven to 450ºF.
2. Make pastry: Combine the flour, sugar and salt in the bowl of a food processor. Add the butter and pulse until mixed into a coarse grain. Add water and mix until the mixture forms dough. Roll on a lightly flour surface into an 11-inch circle. Transfer to a non-stick baking pan and set aside.
3. Make filling: Layer the sliced Saga® Classic Blue Brie around the dough, leaving a 1 ½ -inch rim. Combine the cranberries, walnuts and sugar. Spoon mixture on top of the cheese.
4. Lift the dough border and lay it onto the fruit. Gently press into pleats. Bake until the crust browns, about 20 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before dusting with confectioner’s sugar.
